He also topped the Billboard R & B hits over nine weeks. The song later in the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction.  He ranked 60th best song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Albert Greene (born April 13, 1946), better known as Al Green, is an American soul and gospel music was received with great success in the 1970s. In 2008 BET Awards Green was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, for all the work he has done throughout his career.Green was born in Forrest City, Arkansas. The son of a sharecropper, he started playing at age ten in a Forrest City quartet called the Greene brothers, dropped the final  of his name years later as a solo performer.
