Pat Metheny

Patrick Bruce Metheny (pronounced Meth – eeny, born August 12, 1954 Lee’s Summit, Missouri) is a jazz guitarist and composer. One of the most successful and critically acclaimed jazz musicians come to the fore in 1970 and 1980, is a director Pat Metheny Group and is also involved in duets, solo works and side projects. His style incorporates elements of jazz and modern reformist, post-bop, Latin jazz and jazz fusion.   Metheny was born and raised in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a suburb southeast of Kansas City.

After graduation Lee’s Summit High School, he briefly attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. Metheny when he resigned from the University of Miami in the first half, offered a teaching position. [Edit]
