Hanky Panky by Jeff Barry – Free Piano Sheet
Hanky Panky
\”Hanky Panky\” is a song cursive by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich for their group, The Raindrops. It was famously remade by sway assemble Tommy saint and the Shondells, who took it to number one in the United States. Donald A. Guarisco at Allmusic[1] wrote: “ The lyrics of this song convey the fervour of a hormonal boy driven mad by a girl who knows how to do the suggestive dance of the title, building themselves around the oft-repeated lyrical hook of \”My baby does the hanky panky.\” The penalization is equally simple and infectious, building itself on simple verse and chorus melodies that bounce up and down in a pleasant, bouncy fashion. James’ version is pure garage rock, a live-in-the-studio try that layered low-slung guitar riffs over a shuffling stomp of a beat from the rhythm section. saint topped it off with amusingly mush-mouthed vocals a la \”Louie Louie\” and an out-of-control guitar solo.
Jeff Barry
Jeff Barry (born 3 April 1938) is an American pop penalization songwriter, singer, and record producer. Barry was born Joel Adelberg in Brooklyn, New York. His parents divorced when he was seven, and his mother moved him and his sister to Plainfield, New Jersey, where they resided for individual eld before backward to New York. After graduating from theologist Hall High School, Barry did a stint in the Army and then returned to New York where he attended City College, leaning toward a degree in engineering. His main aspiration, as he soon came to acknowledge, was to embellish a singer: once he realized that he spent more time performing than studying, Barry cut his college career short and in 1958 found himself signed to RCA Records courtesy of penalization publisher Arnold Shaw. (Around this time, wanting a more show-bizzy name, the budding young talent rechristened himself — borrowing his newborn first study Jeff from the actor Jeff Chandler, and surname Barry from friends of the family.) \”Hanky Panky\” is a song cursive by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich for their group, The Raindrops. It was famously remade by sway assemble Tommy saint and the Shondells, who took it to.
