Piano Sheet Music
In order to play the piano well, it is important to learn how to fluently read and understand piano sheet music, and in particular the music notes included in your free piano sheet music.
First of all, beginners should understand the structure of the musical staffs. Musical staffs are a series of five lines and five spaces on which musical notes are written. Each staff comes with a top and bottom section which is constituted by two sets of five lines and four spaces in a vertical position.
Another key aspect of free piano sheet music notes are the musical clefs. The main two clefs one encounters in piano sheet music are the treble or āGā clef, and the bass or āFā clef. It is important to also note where each of these is located on the musical staff. The G-clef will be displayed on the top section of the musical staff, while the F-clef is found on the bottom section of the musical staff. The G-clef notes will ordinarily be written to the right of the middle C note – also known as C5, which is the 33rd key centered on a piano. On the other hand, the F-clef musical notes will be written to the left of this middle C piano key, on any given piano sheet music.
In order to help beginners to identify the correct musical notes on the piano sheet music, it is important to also remember that the five lines and spaces of a musical staff are always counted from top to bottom. One should study these five lines and spaces on the piano sheet music in order to have adequate preparation before reading the musical notes themselves.
Beginners must thereafter review, memorize and be able to identify the five lines and four spaces of the G-clef both on the free piano sheet music, as well as on a real piano.
